Derivitize the enol?

Can I successfully derivitize the enol of an acetoacetate with BSTFA/TCMS? Is there a standard procedure or a good suggestion? Will it silylate completely? I've read in "Little's Book of Artifacts" that it will occur in a percentage. I want it to go to completion. Thanks.

I haven't tried that, even though we derivatize a lot using BSTFA. Possibly as you remove enol acetoacetate from the system through derivatization, that will keep the equilibrium shifted toward complete derivatization.
