Hi all,
I just start working with fluorescent detetor. I found out that with different PMT-Gain I'll have different peak high (with Agilent detector, gian is from 1-13, each step the signal will double). I wonder why in all papers I have read no one mentioned about this parameter because the sensitivity will change alot when we change it. Could anyone please clarify it for me?
Thanks a lot!

Sensitivity does not change, sensitivity is signal to noise. Noise increases proportionally to signal in response to gain therefore sensitivity is unchanged
