Hello, I need to know how to update my autosampler firmware. Do any of you ever try to do this?
Thanks!

Hi,
I think you should contact Agilent (800) 227-9770 to inquire about this. It depends, I think, on which OS you are running. You might be able to download online.
Good luck,

Hi Francois,
I have never upgraded firmware in HPLC or GC modules, however flashed PC BIOSes several times - I'm convinced both operations are quite similar.
Please visit following Agilent address:
http://www.chem.agilent.com/scripts/cag ... F4A0A1C76C

wher you may find detailed descriptions and necessary soft for HPLC (you will have to register to access that place).

Some older Agilent instruments can't be flashed, they need to replace ROM chip to have newer software. I hope it's not a case with your ALS.

Firmware update

Firmware update is not so difficult, but be aware of the following:
1. Check the firmware revision of your modules (in chemstation : Method and run control, instrument, revisions and serialnumbers).
New revisions (starting with A.05.11) are not compatibel with old revisions ( like A.05.10, A.03.80 etc....).
2. Check your Chemstation Revisions, because newer Chemstation need new firmware revisions. The new Chemstation B.02.01 Sr 1 needs at least A.06.02/A.06.03 and would not work with older ones.
If you download the firmware on the agilent page(http://lifesciences.chem.agilent.com/sc ... sp?nmod=LC) there is a very good documentation in it.
