Hello,
I'd like to introduce in the headspace vials basic solutions. Do you think it can bring some apparatus problems?

Basic solutions?

If you have bare metal and especially if your sample pathway contains fused silica deactivated you can have basic compounds tail and/or react with the surfaces.

If the compounds are not too reactive and your temperatures are suitable you can easily do analytes like triethylamine.

If your solutions are basic due to aqueous salts then there should be no problem in general.

best wishes,

Rod

it's basic due to NaOH/water pH around 10 to stabilize amylene(I hope it's going to work). Thanks for your advices.
