Hi there. Can anyone assist me in how to operate an LCMS/MS system? Just a rough idea how to do it and also how can I set the LCMS/MS system to run on MRM mode for my analysis.

Am using ABI Qtrap 4000 and BioAnalyst software. Please advise me. Thanks~

I reckon that you will find the answers to your questions if you read the following book;
LC/MS, A Practical User's Guide (McMaster, Marvin C. - Wiley VCH).

good luck

dear friend,
first of all you have to know the theoretical background about the trap instrument. know all the parts with fucntions. i mean all the hardware in the instrument. then the best way is to contact your vendor means your service engineer. clear dos and dont. normally if you are not new with ms the operation mode are same except the software part. try to catch the manual first , go through it. then if you are permitted to handle, just follow the instruction. in this way you will be able to run ms. otherwise nobody can tell you the exact way to operate because there are different types of system from different make. all the best.

Thanks..will follow up..I have the manual and I guess I need to start up the system first before I can run some analyses with the software.

Which software are you using? (version).....and you just need to do basic MRM?....not using the trap function right
Hi there. I am using BioAnalyst 1.4.1 and will be trying to run isoprostane on the system; Qtrap 4000.

Yea, I do need to run under MRM mode and preferably, an IDA method as well to trigger EPI mode scanning.

Not sure about the trap; do enlightened me? Will the trap be activated (LIT) on MRM mode or do I need to set it manually? I am really new to the entire system and wont be trained on it anytime soon.

Please advise and thanks~
