GC-MS integration

I am using a GC 6890 with a 5973 MSD for aroma chemicals research. Had a question about quantification using SIM mode. When setting up the quantification table, what integrator am I suppose to use- Chemstation Integrator or the RTE integrator. I have Chemstation v. G1701DA. How do these integrators differ in calculating the peak areas? Is there an advantage of using one over the other? Thanks!

I always use RTE integrator for my GCMSD analysis as recommended by Agilent. In my experience, the difference between the two is that Chemstation integrator allows changing integration parameters on time basis whilst RTE looks thing globally and thus more easy to use. However, one thing you should be aware is the peak area calculated by these integrators are TOTALLY different and therefore make sure that you are using the SAME integrator for updating the calibration curve and quantifying your unknown samples.
