ChemStation UV chromatograms

We have ChemStation for LC 3D 10.02

Unbelievably, it seems that post-run from a sample data-file with stored continuous full-scan UV spectra one cannot generate/integrate/report chromatograms at any selected wavelength unless that wavelength was specified in the acquisition method. We have installed the useful full 3D data export macro but it not an attractive proposition to write an application e.g. in Excel to troll thru the output.

Surely there must be some way of doing this within ChemStation??

You can generate the chromatogram on required wevlength by using isoplot option..............

You can also setup a signal to extract in the "Signal Details" dialog box, which is available in the "Load Signal" dialog box. You should add a new signal with the following signal description:

DAD1, Sig=240,30 ref=off, EXT
or
DAD1, Sig=240,30 ref=400,80, EXT

of course you can enter any valid wavelength range and the detector should be DAD1 or DAD2 etc.

When you check the box "Load using Signal Details" in the Load signal box, this signal will be automaticaly extracted and loaded.

You can also enter this in the method, in this case, the signal will be extracted during re-processing etc.

Brilliant! - thanks for the tip An2006. The arcane features of ChemStation are very difficult to figure due the lack of manuals and the feeble help menus.

Hi Pat

You can find all the manuals in software CD itself. Path is Manual>Understanding the concepts>.........
All the manual are in pdf format and acrobat reader is also there you want to install
