Hi all,

I would like to ask regarding the GC headspace that uses Empower 3.

As i have run a set of 19 injection sample on Empower 3. However, for the last injection, it stopped run at 28 min, in which the usual run is 45 min.

Furthermore, when i went to check the message center, there is an missing vial 20 and vial 21. However, according to my sample set, i only have 19 vial. Furthermore, the default sample set only has 19 vial.

In addition, during the trial, i already has run 8 vial, and there is no issue. Only when i run 19 vial, this issue then come out.

Can i know how to i troubleshoot for this, i would hope that the run will not stop at 28 min.

Thank you in advance.
Hello

I'd start with new sample set (from scratch). Try to create sample set from beginning rather than using other one as template.

Is your Headspace being controlled by Empower3? If so check the Empower3 Instrument method. It may specify a vial range for the headspace instrument. If so, then your instrument method would have to match your sample set. We use an Agilent G1888 that is controlled by Empower3 and this is the case or we would have the same problem as you are seeing.
It sounds like your run is stopping because the G1888 is looking to incubate the next vial in the sequence but cannot find it.

follow the two posts above, and also make sure that your run time on your sample set is set correctly, i.e. at 45 minutes. My money is on the instrument method saying something like 'Vials 1 to 22' instead of 'Vials 1 to 19'.
