Hi all,
Does anyone know of a chromatography column packed with aluminium dioxide?
I know that there is such a thing as a Titanium Dioxide column and I thought that I had come across an aluminium dioxide one in the past but I have no idea where!
Thanks for your help!
Steve.

ES Industries has a Gammabond Alumina column. I have never used and in no way am I associated with this company... I just remember seeing it in their catalog. Their phone number is 1-800-356-6140. Good luck and let us know what it can do.

Jon,
Thank you for your reply. I have had a look at the Gammabond Alumina but it seems to be just alumina particles coated with some kind of polymer rather than an Aluminium Dioxide phase. The Alumina RP1 is coated with polybutadiene.
Have you come across any others by any chance? I found the Aluspher material offered by Merck, however this is just alumina particles coated with polybutadiene as well.

Plain old alumina might be tough... I've never heard of a straight alumina column. Best bet might be to pack one yourself, or if you are lazy like me, uh I mean efficient, you could look into having a company custom pack a column for you. If you gave ES Industries a call, they might be willing to pack you an alumina column using their starting alumina material before coverage with PBD.
Best of luck,
Jon

OK, thanks for your help Jon. I might try contacting ES Industries then and see what they say.
Have a nice day,
Steve.
