Dear all friends,
May you please help me. I have GC/ECD and I make an empty run but I see periodical peacks exactly like electrocardiography (heart works' print).

I made my detector conditioned (oven:40 0C when detector 400 0C), but nothing changed.
When I do an empty run instead of a flat and horisontal line but it is one peack after each 2 minutes. The peacks height go about 70-80 Hz.

What can I do.Do you know why it works like this?

Thank you for your help.

I have no idea what is causing your problem however I can ask you to supply more details and try a simple test. What GC, ECD and detector conditions are you using ? We need to find out if the peaks are coming from the injector/column or the detector. Disconnect the column from the base of the ECD and cap it off. Does the output still have a peak every two minutes ? If yes then problem is most likely either pulsing in the detector gas or fault in the detector. If no the problem is either a real peak coming through or again a gas pulse/contamination.

Ok.I try to use your recommendation and see if the problem removes or not.
