I am looking for a method for alendronic acid and related impurities in biofluids MS detection. One of the impurities is aminobutiric acid. Also looking for methods for clodronic and incadronic acids (other bone resorption inhibitors)
Any information on the approach is appreciated.

TIA,

Mark

Dionex and MDS/Sciex have demonstrated a method using IC/MS for a several of the 'dronate drugs. The separation is on a Dionex AS15 column, then it is desalted with a suppressor, and goes to the MS. I can send you a poster reprint. (This same general method works for a variety of anions.)

Here is method for alendronic, ibandronic and etidronic acids with LC/MS compatible conditions. My guess is that other dronic acids will behave similarly:

we don't have a method for aminobutiric acid and alendronic acid in one run. GABA method is here:

I will see if we can analyze Alendronic and aminobutiric acids in one run (it might be tough due to different nature of compounds).

We have also have a method for GABA:

My primary goal is alendronic acid and GABA together (not GABA alone).
I need a simple LC/MS method which can be used in our labs at different locations for these compounds.

Q. to SIELC: what kind of retention I can expect on Primesep SB for GABA with TFA or ammonium formate buffer?
