Hi,
I am using ISO 12766-1 for PCB analysis.
In a month I will receive 1000/week samples.
I need faster sample preparation method.
Any suggestion?
Epa 3546 suggest microwave but it doesn't say about acid? ISO uses H2SO4, could it possible to use for pcb preparetion.
What matrix are your samples going to be?
I have done a relatively large # of wipes for short turn around but if you want to do 1000/week you better have a well worked out procedure. If you have to prep a large number of soils you will need a lot of help.
Extract cleanup with concentrated sulfuric acid is always good, it helps to confirm that it is in fact PCBs. I used 100mg Florisil cartridges for the final step, after acid treatment. That way no acid will find its way into the GC.
1mL 100mg cartridges will pass 1 mL of hexane extract through without significant loss of PCBs and no extra eluent.
