GC-MS Liner broke

I am very new to this site. I checked for the past questions, but I could not find any similar topic, so I am posting this question.
Yesterday, I put a liner #5190-2293 (seems to be developed for Agilent 7890 but can be used in Agilent 6890) in Agilent 6890. We have a old flip top port with gas lines attached.
After I closed the top, I could not achieve the pressure in the inlet, and when I re-opened the port, I found the top part of the liner to be shattered (above the o-ring).
The liner was installed all the way to the bottom, and we never experienced this before with the old liners.
Has anyone had similar experience of the liner getting chipped, cracked, broken or shattered at the top?
Should we just avoid using any other liners that are developed for Agilent 7890 in future in 6890?
Also what kind of cleaning will be required after you find that the liner was broken? What kind of precautions are needed?
Thank you all for your help in advance.
