DATA ANALYSIS LINK BROKEN IN OLD CHEMSTATION

On invoking Data Analysis the upper tab bar does not appear and the lower bar carries the message
could not open file C:\...*.M\events .e
This applies which ever method is loaded. Attempting to close this window invites a shutdown of ChemStation. Is it possible to restore the link without reconfiguring or reinstalling ChemStation (G1701BA B.01.00)?

Hello

Have you removed anything from Chem32 folder? (deleted methods?).
Check if you have default method in Chem32/Method folder (def.M) - this method needs to be in this folder (do not remove it)

Alternatively you can put CD/DVD with Chemstation and use "repair" option - it will reload chemstation without removing data/methods/sequences

Thank you Tomasz for your rapid reply, however, possibly due to incompetence
I cannot locate folder Chem32
default.M is present in folder C:\HPCHEM\3\METHODS
curiously also present is default.M$, 0 bytes, resistant to deletion
I could not find the repair option on the ChemStation CD

Hello

It is ok - Chem32 folder replaced HPCHEM in newer Chemstation version.
In this case if you want quick solution I'd recommend to backup (copy to hard disc) folder HPCHEM (methods/sequences/data and report styles) and reinstall chemstation.
Please note that during reinstalation folder HPCHEM-archive/backup will be created automatically but it is my practise to copy HPCHEM anyway to safe location.

You can try to investigate issue but if time is critical just simply reinstall Chemstation.

Good luck
