how could i detect hydrocarbon presented in amine? is possible just inject the amine in the GC and i will get the result for the hydrocarbon?

we are using methyl di ethanol amine to absorbe the acidic gas from our gas and at the same time i think the amine also will absorbe the heavey hydrocarbon from our gas and i want to see how much amine could absorbed by injecting them in gc but i'm afride that amine will damge my coulmn.Many thanks.

You are looking then for C5 through about C14 at 1000ppm to a few ppm in natural gas absorbing into your amine sulfur trap components.
If you are using traditional packed column BTU analyzer then a direct injection of the amine is not recommended.
If you are using a capillary column lab GC then you could certainly inject the amine directly and determine the amount of hydrocarbon present using an internal standard.
A thick film methyl silicone or 5% Phenyl methyl silicone is recommended.
I would expect that some heavy hydrocarbons will be present but that they should be in small amounts, especially if the amine is at above ambient temperature as I would expect on a pipeline pumpling station.
