I would like to enquire regarding this matter of Agilent Chemstation raw data (.ms file) for the chromaograms. It seems that the data is corrupted or something with this error 409 when I tried to open the data with Data Analysis software. What does tat mean? I have tried to view this file using notepad and is it because of that I have corrupted the file? Please advise me if there is a way to reverse this so that i can view my data correctly again.

Sorry for all he trouble and any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks a lot! God bless you~

I have had this problem. I think that if you open the file in notepad there should be no issue (other than a bunch of gibberish.) The problem comes in when you close notepad and you save the file. Even if you save the file as .ms, it will become corrupt. This is my experience, and I am not sure if I could duplicate it at any given time

Saving in Notepad is definitely cause of your problems. Same happened to me few weeks ago. So, NEVER use Notepad to edit datafiles. Use hex editor, such as Xvi32 (it's free).
