I am tyring to quantitate homocysteine from plasma using reverse phase HPLC and Electrochemical detection. At present I am using an electrochemical cell with glassy carbon working electrode material. I would like to know if the glassy carbon is enough for detecting homocysteine.

Sulfur compounds are typically detected using a gold electrode. Check www.dionex.com and search for Application Note AN132.
