When determining the precision of a method, do you make 4 or more sample preparation and one injection each, or one sample preparation and 4 or more injection from that preparation. Or is it 4 sample preparation or more and 4 0r more injection per sample preparation.

Jaime,
Method precision should be multiple sample preps and can be one injection each. Whenever you perform multiple injections from one preparation, you are looking at autosampler precision. Typically when validating a method I prepare six sample preparations and make one injection of each.
Hope this helps.

Jaime,
Agree with David.Method precision is done using at least 6 replicate preparations of the sample and single injection of each replicate. for system precision its 6injections of 1 solution.
Hope this helps.
