Hello,

I'm running an old 5890 GC and 5971 MSD, with agilent chemstation A.03.01, and WIN-95

I have other CD of A.08.03 to run under Win-NT, this version work well with my 5890 GC, but I can't configure the 5971. I don't know if this versions is for GC/MSD or GC only.
I saw in other sites that they are working with this same instruments in newest versions of chemstations.

When you buy a new GC/MSD, how many licences are need, one for both instruments? or two licences?

Camino - I'm not really a software guy, but 5971 MSD needs the GCMS software like G1034C. Win 95 or Agilent Chemstation A.03.01 is fine for a regular GC, but 5971 MSD needs MS software. We ran our 5971 on Win3.1 with G1034C, were told by Agilent it maybe was/maybe wasn't possible to upgrade the 5971 to Win95, that maybe it would work with an MS electronics upgrade (and it's way out of support). Your A.08.03 software would suffice for regular GC and Win NT, but A.08.03 doesn't apply to GCMS. On the hand, you state "I'm runnung...." so if it's working now, don't change anything.
