interpreting FID-GC chromatogram

Could someone please explain what S stand for and mean in
signal type in GC?

And would Area % values indicate the amount of component present in the sample that was injected?

Solvent peak in ChemStation (!)

Area% values are percentages of areas for given peaks re. sum of all peak areas of integrated peaks. Correlation with real composition may differ depending mainly on FID response factors for analytes.
