Hi All ,

I have compound which shows water content by KF:3.0% whereas by by TGA it shows 4.5%. Both TGA and KF are used to determine water content. But does KF also detects (calculates) bound water or is it just adsorbed water? Since it is known that TGA can give idea about both adsorbed and bound water (lattice water).

Any explanations for the same?

Regards,

Yogesh

Hi,

I'm sure but generally the standardisation of the KF reagent is done by Di sodium tartrate dihydrate..... "a di hydrate salt" so ......does that answer your question?
