Varian 1200 autotune problem!!!!!

Hi all,

I am using a Varian 1200 MSMS with GC, There are some problems about this MSMS.

At first, I just found the response is very low, so I cleaned the EI source, and when I do the autotune, it just said "Warning: baseline calibration unsuccessful -- baseline set to 5 mV". I don't understand what's that mean. I also checked the detector, however, when I did the EDR, it also said "baseline calibration unsuccessful". and then it said "Warning: Deterctor calibration aborted -- Gain: high background noise and/or baseline drift, The user has elected to proceed using previous detector calibration value."

We have changed the multiplier.

I wonder whether anyone has met the similar peoblem. or anyone can give me some suggestion.

Thank you very much

I have had a similar problem with Varian LC-MS 1200L.
Occasionaly, the baseline was very high. The only solution I found was to reset the computer and then sometimes the issue went away. On other occasions, the high baseline disappeared when I loaded a completely different method.
