Heat Stable Salts can be analyzed by IC using the method as described in the article on this subject by Jay Gandhi published in the LC/GC magazine Applications Guide September 2005. I have attached the link.

http://www.lcgcmag.com/lcgc/data/articl ... rticle.pdf

If you need any direct assistance you can contact Jay by his contact info listed on the paper.

Of course this is one way to perform the analysis. Other companies have similar methods for the anions, weak acids, thiosulfate and thiocyanate. The information can be obtained from their websites. Many independent labs perform this analysis on a regular basis. A contact person which performs this analysis regularly is Leighann Ireland who can be reached at li@mp-ic.com if this is of benefit to you. If you need more specific information than this please feel free to email me or post here.

Respectfully,
Jeff Brewer

Roslee8172,

The Application Note 138 from Dionex gives the latest details on analysis of heat stable salts (http://www1.dionex.com/en-us/webdocs/4089_AN138_V13.pdf ). If you are interested in analysis of the amines involved in the process, IonPac CS18 is a good choice for these analytes (http://www1.dionex.com/en-us/webdocs/35 ... 32906b.pdf).
