Hi Everyone,
We have a 6890N fitted with a 7683 ALS (mod # G2613A). We are getting intermittent faults, usually two flashes of the red light ie. injector syringe error. We've fault diagnosed with Agilent and can not find a cause for the problem - Agilent have suggested that we buy a change-over ALS. The current one is less than 2000 injections old but is out of warranty. Can anyone suggest a fix? Has anyone had reliability problems with the ALS model above?
Looking forward to some replies,

Syringe errors, what a pain.
Plunger becomes stuck in the barrel. Change brands or size and see if problems persist.
Sample vials have caused problems, which is usually a bent needle. I've changed vendors on a few occasions.
Sample vials have been pulled from the turret. The spring loaded hold-down pulled the vial up. The older 7673 had a much larger hold-down than the 7683. This problem is easy to see, the vials usually don't fall back into the turret. I've cleaned and lubricated the spring glide bar to help keep the vial in place.
Syringe motor problems. The motor develops a dead-spot. Loosen the motor and move the spindle under the z-belt just a bit. This will work for short term, then see about replacing the syringe mechanism. This is similar to the older 7673 models.
Seeing the problem occur is about the only way in which to debug a problem. I've been through many-a-syringe to find the problem.
