Can anyone recommend good books on experimental design applied to chromatographic analysis / method development ?

Thanks in advance for any reply.

Sandra

What do you mean with "experimental design"?

Could be that Sandra means "Practical HPLC method development" by LR Snyder, JL Glajch. JJ Kirkland, Wiley.
By experimental design I mean choosing a set of experiments out of all the possible experiments available e.g.Plackett-Burman design, factorial designs, D-optimal designs and so on.

I already know the book Practical HPLC Method Development but that's not what I need; thanks anyway for the tip.

With the Osiris software you downloaded you should be able to do it, although you always need a couple of injections!

Sandra,

There is a new edition available of Statistics for Experimenters.

(Statistics for Experimenters: Design, Innovation, and Discovery , 2nd Edition) approx. $91 @amazon.

The first edition has for a long time been regarded as guide and reference for the application of statistical methods, and especially as applied to experimental design. Then of course, as there is several commercial sources of softwares to apply experimental design, it is very much up to your personal opinion on what to use.

If you send me your e-mail address, I'll send you a book chapter on method development that I wrote not too long ago. It may cover some of your questions.

I can recommend

Design and Analysis of Experiments, 5th Edition

written by: Douglas C. Montgomery

ISBN: 0-471-31649-0
