Empower 3 - Cloning a project and Shallow Copy option

Comrades,
I am looking for a better understanding of the correct usage of using Shallow Copies of projects when cloning a project to create a "Master" seed project. Essentially, I want to create "Master Copy" versions of the projects I have in the PROD environment and use these Master projects to create other projects in which I will create by Quarter...So next years data will be generated under the new Q1, Q2, Q3, Q4 2017 projects that I created from the cloned Master Project. My global project privileges allow Shallow Copies, which means everything as found in a simple cloned project will be the same except the full method histories wont be copied over.
One of my questions to you Empower gurus is will and auditor frown upon not seeing full method histories in these Q1-Q4 projects or will it likely not be a big deal since everything can be traced back to the original project? I am struggling with whether or not i should create shallow copies of the projects and just do plain old cloning of the projects and carry the method histories over. Any insight or recommendations is appreciated!
