Agilent Chemstation

I'm having a problem with my Agilent Chemstation, Chemstore on a 6890 GC. The system scale for the y-axis is being recorded and printed in pA or Norm., what I would be looking for is it in Counts. The pA areas are too low for quantification purposes and this is a problem during analysis. I was wondering would it be possible to change the scale to counts in options?

I don't think that is an option that can be changed, but it's just a nomenclature change. Your signal to noise should be unchanged. I think it's more related to whether a 6890 or a 5890 is connected, as I have A.06 on two GCs, and the 5890 has Y-axis of Counts and the 6890 has pA.

Thanks for this, I don't suppose you might know the conversion factor between the 6890 pA and the 5890 counts? I'd hazard a guess at it being roughly x100 between the pA and counts but I would not bet my house on it

counts

If you divide the number of counts by 2^8 you should have an approximate value in pA

or

multiply the value of pA by 2^8 and you will have the approximate number of counts.
