Does anyone have any experience with this? I've just installed the Agilent GC-MS data analysis software and the NIST 08 library but when I do a NIST search nothing happens. Is NIST 08 incompatible with Windows 8?

I didn't know any of the Agilent software was compatible with anything above Windows 7.

You need to have the Agilent software installed before you install the NIST DB. If you are using only the PBM Search, you will have the NIST08.L folder in the \Database folder. You will need to select NIST08 from the Spectrum\Select Library ... Main Menu command.
If you want to use the NIST MS Search Program, you will need to install it from the CD. All the necessary Macros will automatically install.
If you installed NIST08 before ChemStation, re-install the NIST08.
You should upgrade to the NIST14.

The Agilent software/NIST08 works fine on Windows 7 - it just seems to be 8 that's the problem. The Agilent software and NIST library install fine except when it tries to modify the WIN.INI file - then it hangs.
I'm going to ask our IT mob if it's due to our security settings before I give up.
