Hi,

I have a question regarding the communication between a 2695 Alliance and the PC/Empower software. I know that it works with a BUS/LACe card, but it is very expensive. The other day I saw a picture of someone using a GPIB-USB-B connector (part number : 188417E-01) from National Instruments in order to communicate between the Alliance and Empower. I have one in my lab, but I did not find how to use it to connect my 2695 Alliance with Empower (maybe there is a drivers mismatch ?). Does anyone know how to use this kind of connector ? Is it possible to use this instead of a BUS/LACe card ?

If anyone know how to use this connector, I will be super grateful !

Hi,
If using with Empower, you must have the LACE-card. With Masslynx and or Chromeleon, the NI GPIB must be used. I have used NI GPIB in up to 9 systems with WXP and W7.
Hello
The first version of Acquity PDA detector controlled via NI GPIB-ENET box. Empower2 from base to FR5 can controll 2695, 2487, 2998 with NI GPIB-ENET box. From Empower2 FR5 only the detectors can controlled it.
Use NI drivers from 2.8. The PCMCIA GPIB card can be work too with the base version of Empower2 and Masslynx.
The Beckman CE systems controlled via NI GPIB-ENET or GPIB-USB.
