I work at an electronics repair company, and have received a batch of boards for testing, they are for the Agilent 1100 HPLC system. I think I'm at a dead end here, I just need to find a way to test if the boards are working correctly, I've attempted to communicate via the ethernet ports, but further reading is making me think these may be CAN-bus ports.

I was just wondering if anyone could suggest a way to test if the boards are working correctly, without having to build a test rig? I know this may not be possible, I just thought I would ask here before making a decision of whether or not to drop this project.

Thank You,
-Sam
Hello

Agilent 1100/1200 modules boards do not have Ethernet (LAN) slots. What you have on boards is CAN slot.
LAN card is external for this modules.
To be honest I'm not sure if you can make testing if board is working fine (I mean full functionality) if you don't have rest parts connected to it - which in fact means that you should test it when it is installed in module.

As Thomasz stated , it seems not possible to test the boards without the module , there are sensors connected it ( leak sensor , fan speed , active inlet valve , proportioning valve etc ) , and if the boards does not see a sensor , it gives an error and stop.

Even , the board stops working if it sees light , there are optical sensors , to prevent it working without cover.
