Analysis of VOCs using TQ mass spectrometer

We are considering to buy a triple quad mass spec to do voc analysis of air samples. I am being told by some of the instrument companies that the TQ will not work for VOC analysis. However, there are some articles in this forum on using the triple quad for voc analysis using purge & trap! I greatly appreciate any input.
