Hey there!

I'm using GC-MS (Saturn 2100T), I have some problem with the MS part! When I am performing the Diagnostics test
I found that:

1. The Ionization test: FAILED
FILAMENT 1 IS OPEN
FILAMENT 2 IS OK
2. Extended Heater Test Results:
Trap Heater: FAILED (the trap heater cannot be accurately controlled. likely causes include:1) the sapwave board is defective(trap heater DAC)

Could you please help me out?
I appreciate your help!!!!

I just got a similar error message.

I attempted to run a diagnostic heater test on trap, then it stopped and said "trap heater: failed. The trap heater cannot be accurately controlled. Likely causes include: 1) the sapwave board is defective (trap heater DAC)."

Is there a repair manual that includes this info?

how to verify that its the sapwave board?

machine:
Varian cp-3800
Saturn 2200
MS workstation 6.5
Answer:

ignore it, if everything else works. and if you do need a new SAPWAVE board, you're SOL because they don't make them any more.

The diagnostic test for the trap heater always fails because it can't heat/cool fast enough to pass the test.
