hello!

can anybody suggest me a method for preparation of sebasic acid, heptanal and undecylenic acid before introducing to GC or can I directly analyse them in GC without any pretreatment?? we generally use methylation method (BF3) for vegetable oils, can we apply this method also for these compounds??

thanks...

Heptanal requires no derivatization.

I've wanted to ask something else, can anybody suggest me a web address that can be helpful what I'm searching for? do you know an internet site that I can get detailed information about GC?

thanks

P.S.: thank you Radish

Personally, we'd try first dissolving the sample in DMF, derivatizing with BSTFA, and assay on a non-polar polysiloxane column such as DB-1 or DB-5.
