One of the gc baseline is decreasing then increasing again while in the progress of temperature programming with increasing temperature. Any idea what is happening? Thanks

Baseline drift in GC is usually related to either high boiling point analytes that were stucked in the column flowing out with temperature increase or stationary phase being pushed out by excessive temperature.
Hope this helps!

Laucc,
What detector are you using. If you have a flow sensitive detector you could also be seing a flow change in your GC due to the pneumatics not being able to compensate for the change in flow resulting from the visicosity change of your carrier gas.

I m using a FID. Maybe it is because of the broken liner, after changing the liner the baseline problem seem to be solved. However the blank solvent peak starts tailing now (blank solvent is CS2, this is a HT SIMDIS GC), could it be due to leaking?
