Software for HP 1050 HPLC?

Discussions about HPLC, CE, TLC, SFC, and other "liquid phase" separation techniques.

Hi everyone,

We just purchased a used HP 1050 HPLC. Unfortunately the system did not come with any software, can anyone recommend something?

Will the system work with any 3rd party software or do we need to have Chemstation installed? Any idea on cost?

Fortunately all the HPIB are in place.
Is there also a 9pin serial port on the unit? If so it may be easier to find third party software to run it.

EZChrom may work if it has the serial connector, but I have not worked with the 1050 units to be certain.
The past is there to guide us into the future, not to dwell in.
Hi Les,

You may like to consider PowerStream software.

The +/- 1V output of the detector/s may be fed into PowerStream software.

This will acquire, manipulate and save chromatograms, within a 21 CFR part 11 framework.

Despite being very easy to use, it is extremely comprehensive. http://www.cecilinstruments.com/powerstream-1.html

Please contact me at the address below if you are interested.

I should have ChemStation software for 1050 on CD (replacement media), should have Revisions A.03 through A.09. What version of Windows would be using - because the computer will need an HPIB/GPIB board or some modern USB converter.

I also have 5 #82335 HPIB/GPIB board for computer
1 #82341 HPIB/GPIB board for computer
and 4 #82350A HPIB/GPIB board for computer

If interested, post your E-mail address and I'll contact you, shipping within USA preferred. I've sold most of my 1050 hardware already, but still have the above, see http://chromforum.org/viewtopic.php?f=7 ... 31#p149031

Hopefully there is a 10-character Agilent/HP license number sticker on one of the components, or maybe someone here can supply. The 1050 is a very good system, my favorite, loved the pushbuttons on the front panels as well as the ChemStation.
While next to any masspec software will control a 1050 (of proper vintage, of course), I prefer using the keyboard.

We rarely use the UV detector. When we do, use either analog input of the MS or hook up a MeterMan (38XR I belive) connected to a PC serial port (soft is free) and store analog as ASCII.

Then use Openchrom to intergrate.

Cost: <$200
