Carrier and Make-Up Gases for FID and EC Detectors

We are purchasing a Varian CP3800 GC equiped with both FID and ECD. Would use of N2 as carrier and make-up gas on ECD enhance sensitivity as compared to using P5 (5%Ar/Methane)? Our primary use for the GC will be to measure soil derived N2O, CO2, and CH4.
