We are using masshunter with a P&T GC/MS system and back in February something changed and data file sizes went from 2-4 MB to 20-40 MB in size. It seems the majority of that resides in the .bin file. I am still trying to see if there was a manual change in scan rate or some other setting. It seems it's collecting WAY too much information, and it's a pain for us to backup data files. A single day's runs don't fit on a single dvd anymore. Any ideas? Thanks.
Regards,

Christian
If you have chosen "raw" data, and not "Profile" data, that will increase your file size.

Also, if you change the step sizes in the tune (more scanning points per m/z), this will also increase your file size.

Using both, I had managed to create a 257 MB file. 8)

kind regards
