GC headspace - method transfer to different hardware

Hi ,

I am currently trying to transfer in a GC headspace method which uses a transfer line , injection time and withdrawal time (Agilent 7697) to a gas tight syringe set up (Themo tri plus).

Any easy way to obtain same sensitivity and chromatography across the 2 systems ie .. convert transfer and time to syringe volume ?

Thanks
Did you dismantle the previous system? I'd just run them head-to-head and see how they compare (accuracy, precision, limit of detection, etc.). I'd keep adjusting the new method until it matched or is better than the old one.
The 7697 uses a sample loop, typically 1 mL, so your injection volume from the syringe would be the same. Vial equilibration temp and times would be the same. I usually use the loop temp as my syringe temp.
