Hi everyone,

I am having problem with Shimadzu LC-10ADVP HPLC pump (2.5 y old).
When I push the pump button, an error message:Error Home Pos" and then "Error Leak Detect" appeared and I am not able to run the pump.
I didn't see any leak around the sensor and the motor seems working properly but I think it is not detecting or recognizing the sensor???

Any suggestions/recommendation will be appreciated.

Thank you.

regards,

Hello :)

This usually happens with the 10AD series pumps when there is an air bubble trapped inside the pump head. Try priming the pump head and restarting the system.

Else, take a look at the inlet check valve. There may be particulates or an air bubble trapped in there. In my experience, Shimadzu 10 A series inlet valves fail quite often, especially when one is using a buffer.

Also, check the low-pressure limit setting in the pump menu. If it's not set to zero, change it to zero and check.

Hope this helps.

This is not a Check valve or bubble related problem. Communicate your local Shimadzu agent. because this is Leak Sensore related problem.

Thanks

You have two problems,
1. Your leak sensor gone bad. lower the sensitivity or change it. only your instrument engineer can do it.
2. Home position error can come due to blockage of your pump rotating shaft or your photoelectric position sensor gone , try to clean it with IPA or just change it .

Call your service engineer.

home position error

Once While cleaning the Pump piston, I mistakenly took out the springs behind the piston Probably I could nt put back the springs in proper manner, Which resulted in Homeposition error. Afterseveral retries, got it right way.

For Homeposition errors Shimadzu recommend contacting service engineer.
