hi to all,
i am a necomer to the field of liquid chromatography, i heard from mates about LC-MS-NMR, can anyone tell me some thing about it and its use?
can someone suggest some references? please help?

LC-Ms is the coupling of HPLC with a suitable mass spectrometer, LC-NMR with a especially equipped NMR.
LC-MS is frequently used, LC-NMR less often. For both systems you would need different solvent systems: LC-MS needs volatile buffers, LC-NMR deuterated solvents.
Both systems give complementary information, in some cases structure elucidation is possible. The amount of sample needed is less than with isolation, especially with LC-NMR the column has to be overloaded to the maximum.
Both systems require trained and experienced staff for usable results.

Hi Aniket

I've co-authored around 20 papers on this technique so I guess I can say I know what's what. Try doing a search on I D Wilson or F Pullen as a starting point. These guys have been at the forefront (amongst others before I upset someone). If you have any specific questions just let me know.

Articles from JC Lindon are good for what you ask. He is emphasizing more NMR than MS but it is a good starting point...

The two references above give a useful insight as well as providing good bibliogarphies with lots of helpful further reading
