Hi,

Looking for some help with my Agilent GC!

Having a problem where if you open/close Chemstation on the computer then the instrument randomly starts running whatever method is loaded. If GC is turned off and on again then it will start running the method on it's own as soon as it comes on.
however if you use chemstation to actually start a sequence/method, nothing happens!

Any help would be great!

Rookie: you need to post much more information, like model number of GC, which Windows, which ChemStation, OpenLAb or not, etc.
Hello

You have probably some external instrument connected with remote cable (sampler, purge&trap, thermodesorber).
And it looks like external unit sends start signal to GC. Check if external unit is working fine.

Tomasz is correct, probably a purge and trap (That's what does it for me) that hasn't reset. I would suggest shutting down GC/MS/Purge and trap/Software on computer. Then start the GC/MS then the Computer (and software) then the purge and trap or other devices and see if this works.
