I have to learn to use this Chromquest software very quickly would be grateful if someone could demonstrate how to assemble a method/sequence/report that could assay

And use standard weight to calculate sample strengths

don't you know anybody that knows Chromquest or EZChom Elite?
can you ask those that support your Thermo HPLC to teach you?

in my point of view what you are asking is a bit difficult unless you can do it on site (preferably) or at list on line with someone else.
even if you are talking about just building an advance report to summarise your result, it is al least a full hour just to show the basics of advanced reporting in that software so that you can build on your own basic advanced reports.
if you are talking about a full basic training on how it works to begin with, then that is a least 5-6 hours (fast learners) in my experience and that is without getting to deep inside the advanced capacities of the software for reporting and summerising and the follow up.

Thanks, i am familiar with agilent systems, and can now use this piece of kit to perform a sequence, i'm trying to make life easier for myself, by asking if anyone could share an existing method/sequence/report, so i can see how its assembled in its entirity and adapt it for my use. The kit is in a Uni lab, so no tecnical support, and no one that knows how to use it to its full extent, hence the question. many thanks

It can't be very good software if it hasn't got help files or some sort of tutorial. Have you tried looking?
Doesn't anyone have a manual either?
Perhaps you should get a request in for new software - but you work in uni environment I know so this could take time!

Just because you are in a University lab does not exclude you from contacting Thermo to ask for help. I am sure they would be happy to put such a simple method for you. When I worked for Thermo in the UK any of the sales/service/support people would have been happy to provide free advice, just sorry I missed all but the basic training on ChromQuest and have not touched it for four years as I was an expert on Chromcard, (see other posts )

What you would need to do is to create a so called "advanced report". This is a template that resembles Excel that can be linked to the sequence. In the sequence you will define a "Summary Range" that will define what entries in your sequence (in your case 2+6+2) need to be supplied as result sets to your template.

A simple "advanced report" is quite easy to make using the Wizards inside the report environment e.g. the table wizard. As soon as you want more specific calculations for e.g. Assay you will find that it can be quite a challenge to design the correct report. On the bright side: much of your Excel experience is re-used, almost any calculation can be done inside these reports.

Apart from the link in the sequence to the report template, nothing in the sequence not the method needs to be altered.
