There is a gold or copper plated manifold gasket that is installed somewhere in the Saturn III manifold. Unfortunately I don't have a manual, but I do have the part. Can somebody explain exactly where it goes on the instrument?

Thanks,
Aaron

If the saturn III is similar to the finnigan ITS 40s (which people have told me it is) the gold gasket is for the top of the manifold. there should be a circle of bolts on top of the manifold, below this is the ion trap and electron multiplier. The gasket goes in between the top plate and the manifold. Can't help you with the manuals. Have you tried contacting varian?
