We determine organic acid in negative mode by LC/MS/MS, I believe alkali buffer will give better sensitivity.
Is there any stable volatile buffer system at pH10?

This isn't really a buffer, but you can just use ammonium hydroxide. If your chromatography is reverse-phase, you'll have less retention than at low pH.

Since many years, we are routinely using ammonium bicarbonate at this pH. It is mass-spec friendly since it falls appart above somewhere around 60 degrees into CO2, NH3 and H2O. It can even be used in preparative chromatography. The pH is also rather independent of the mobile phase composition.

You must to try with ethylendiamine 10 mM and APCI ion source
