what are the practical response factor and the theoretical response factor?

I've never heard those specific terms, but I would assume the "theoretical" response factor is what you should get given the number and kind of carbon atoms on the molecule (I'm assuming you're talking about FID here). I would assume the "practical" is what you actually get.
