Waters Bourdon Transducers

How reliable are the Waters Bourdon Transducers (600E and earlier)? I have a system that is spiking to high pressure on a water:methanol gradient. I really don't think the pressure is as high as the transducer is telling me. The same column did not exhibit as high a pressure on another system.

This is annoying since the system shuts down in the middle of the gradient.

It is tempting to just dial back the transducer to eliminate the shutdown, but I am hesitant.

Experience? Comments?

We had the same problem with 600 and ended up bypassing transducer

The different pressure on different systems amy also be due to differences in the tubing, rather than an incorrect reading of the pressure transducer.

The systems are nearly identical, and I try to keep it that way for comparison purposes.
