I am quite new to this field and am in the initial stage of learning and working with a Shimadzu GCMS-QP2010 Plus. The tuning results of the GCMS after turning on the system shows a higher level of water content and typically the water content level decreases with time. However, in this case the system is running for 2 weeks and more and still the water content doesnt seem to decrease. What am I missing and what should I check? Suggestions please.

I agree, if only water is high that would be strange. If N2, O2, Ar and CO2 are all low but water is high, then either a gas trap is saturated with water or some other component is.

"The tuning results of the GCMS after turning on the system shows a higher level of water content....."

1. NEVER shut-down high vacuum equipment (ONLY for maintenance)

2. See 1 above
