cannot tune stune

Hi I have a 6890 with 5975. I am able to do an atune and a dfttp tune, but the mass spec seems to loose the 218 and 502 peaks when running an stune or bfbtune. It starts off okay with seeing the peaks and then seems to tune away from them. I am running masshunter acq software.

Any ideas?
Hello

You should have previous "stune" files saved on disc. Just find one from previous months and try to load one.

For BFB tuning I normally just run Atune and then manually adjust to get BFB to pass, it usually is pretty close just with Atune, though I have not tried it under Mass Hunter on a 5975 yet. Currently I am using a 7000QQQ and it doesn't have a DFTPP or BFB tune macro build into the Mass Hunter for it, but it is still not difficult to manually tune it to pass.
The past is there to guide us into the future, not to dwell in.
Probably, you should clean the ion source.
I have tried loading a default tune in case the tune file got corrupted with no change. The source has been cleaned and has also been replaced by agilent due to issues related to no signal. The instrument has had a whole new analyzer installed (possible cracked quad). Still not tuning - just got a new source to install and try (obviously lucky to have a service contract on this one)
