I use an ECD with NaOH as postcolumn reagent. I have some problems with the sensitivity of the method. Does anyone have some suggestions to improve the sensitivity ?

bartjoosen,
It would help to know a bit more about the specifics of your situation: column, eluent, chromatographic conditions (flow rate, temperature, injection volume, etc.), analyte(s) and post column conditions (reagent concentration and flow rate). If you are using conditions specified in a method and are unable to duplicate published detection limits, the most likely culprit is a defective reference electrode. Do you have a spare reference electrode?
