Dear all,
I want to determine THMs in water using pruge & Trap with GC/ECD.
Anyone can suggest a suitable method?
Another question:
Does ECD response to water?
Thanks for the help.

water usually causes a temporary change and deadens the ECD response. Avoid injecting water onto a ECD.

An ELCD detector, also known as a "Hall detector" might be a better choice. Hall detectors are selective for halogen and can have somewhat better detection limits than electron capture. They are not suitable for undiluted high concentration samples.
See part 40 CFR (code of federal regulations)
EPA method 502.2 covers the halomethanes.
EPA method 524.2 is the GCMS version.
